The most eastern Tallinn hypermarket is completed

Raised on the border of Tallinn, at the intersection of Peterburi and Lagedi tee, Rimi Hyper will make the life of people heading east from the capital easier by providing an opportunity to shop far from city noise.

The developer of the commercial building built at Peterburi tee 98 is Capital Mill OÜ. An interesting fact is that this is the last east-side store for foodstuffs and industrial goods of the hypermarket-size located next to Narva highway in front of the city’s border for the following from Tallinn.

According to Igor Mölder, Executive Director of the Capital Mill OÜ, the commercial building on Peterburi tee 98 aroused great interest even before the opening, because it fills an important void and offers people leaving Tallinn to make purchases conveniently.

“The new commercial building balances development and appearance, because until now there was an empty zone at the entrance to the capital. Now life will arise there”, – said Mölder. “The fact that it produces the last permanent Tallinn-Narva highway and a large store and service center to the city’s border is eloquent. Every day from Tallinn go to the east or, using a ring road, to other destinations tens of thousands of people for whom Peterburi tee 98 can be a convenient place to do everyday shopping and other activities”.

Next to Peterburi tee 98, large and important roads intersect that provide a good connection to the industrial area of the Old Narva highway, the port of Muuga, the Tallinn ring road, Lasnamäe and the Tallinn-Narva highway.

The closed net area of the building is 3 871 sq m. In addition to the Rimi in the building, among others, Benu pharmacy, Jardin flower shop, Caramira pet store, Liha Expert butcher shop and Pizza Levi cafe are starting to operate. In addition, the building will include Itella Smartpost and Omniva parcel machines.

“The competition in the Estonian retail landscape is tight, and everyone is tensely trying to maintain their market share and, if possible, to increase it as well”, – said Vaido Padumäe, the head of the Rimi Eesti Food AS. “Rimi at Peterburi tee will be our eighth hypermarket in Tallinn, but in Estonia is already the fifteenth. I believe that we made a good investment by opening a large new store in a commercial center on Peterburi tee, since this center is located near the big highway. We have already opened this year four completely new stores, and three Rimi passed the course for refreshment. A hypermarket on Peterburi tee is the latest newest Rimi this year, which we will open”.

In the Rimi store on Peterburi tee 98, a different interior design that focuses in a northern way on simplicity. The interior of the store is wider, simpler and more modern.

The architect of the commercial building at Peterburi tee 98 is Ivo Rebane from the Guru Projekt OÜ bureau, and the general contractor for the construction of the building is Mitt & Perlebach OÜ.
